This trip was the first of many great experiences to come. It was indeed a beautiful trip with the experience of connecting not only with nature, but people as well. Everyone came together with their common love and gratitude for the outdoors. The vibes at this campsite were amazing; my favorite moments were when we all gathered together around the fire and sang songs for hours. At one moment we all started singing whatever song came to mind and everyone was eager and ready to sing along.

This experience was a much needed escape from the stresses of everyday life. Being on the top of the mountain in the presence of such a beautiful place and taking in the view made my problems seem so miniscule. You could see the people below, as tiny as ants, just enjoying their lives with their families. Some taking a cool dip in the river, some hanging around the campfire with their families, some driving by in their itty bitty cars. All human, all with their own separate lives that are equally as important to them as the next guy.

I would highly recommend investing in a trip like this. Joining the Outdoors Club at Texas State was an easy way for me to connect with people and the outdoors. The officers were amazing at helping this trip come together. After paying the small dues for the club, we were provided with everything we needed for the trip, all you had to do was bring yourself.
